My Personal Journey

 I was slim and trim growing up and into my twenties. I could basically eat what I wanted and not gain weight. What a blessing until one day, the pounds began to sneak up on me. I really wasn’t aware of it happening until I would see pictures of myself (this is what we call denial). Periodically, I would get motivated to try to lose the extra weight-and I did many different fad diets with varying degrees of success, but the pounds always came back and brought a few friends. This yo-yo dieting cycle went on for years. I was discouraged and eventually figured that there was nothing I could do about it other than accept the fact that I would be heavy forever. It really wasn’t the extra weight that bothered me as much as the way I felt. I was tired all the time, my body ached, I often had pain in my head and back, I felt down more days than not, and over all, I just felt older than my years and uncomfortable in my body.

After consistent urging from a friend who was following a cleansing and fat burning program and seeing her results and hearing her enthusiasm for how good she was feeling, I decided to try one more time. I didn’t put my whole heart into it-remember I had tried many diets over many years and so I was very skeptical, but I decided to try again based on my friends recommendation.

I started to follow the program skeptically and half-heartedly and I must tell you, I was blown away by my results. Overall, I gained mental clarity, better sleep, less fatigue and increased energy! At the end of my first program, I had also benefited from releasing nine pounds. This initial success became very motivating and I soon put my whole heart into my new lifestyle and I was rewarded for my efforts.

I wake up feeling refreshed, vibrant and energized. I no longer crave unhealthy sweets, mood altering caffeine, sugar or excess carbs. My cravings are GONE, in spite of my initial half-hearted following of the program. I now have first hand experience and have gained increased understanding into how what we put into our bodies directly affects how we feel-physically, mentally, emotionally and even spiritually. This new found awareness has fueled my research and learning in the areas of nutrition and mental health.

I have dropped five sizes, having released over 35 pounds and 40 inches from my body. I have had a significant increase in lean body mass and a corresponding decrease in my body fat percentage. I have lost the weight and KEPT IT OFF! I have never enjoyed this level of health and wellness before in my life.

While, the weight loss is very exciting and motivating, it is only part of the story. The real benefits are what you CANNOT see-the amazing improvements in how I feel. The energy, the motivation, the health, the improved sleep, and so much more-I feel as if I’ve gotten my life back and I’m passionate about helping others learn more about how nutrition impacts their entire well-being.
